Biography
In order to deliver drugs in biomedical applications, functional dendrimer nanosystems are being developed by Ling Peng, a renowned expert in this field. In the French National Scientific Research Center, Dr. Ling Peng oversees research (CNRS). She completed her undergraduate degree in chemistry at Nanjing University in China, and in 1987 she enrolled in the Ph.D. programme under the direction of Professor Albert Eschenmoser at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Zurich. She spent three years as a postdoctoral research fellow in Prof. Maurice Goeldner's group at Louis Pasteur University in Strasbourg, France, after completing her PhD thesis on the synthesis of modified DNA oligonucleotides in 1993. During this time, she developed a number of photosensitive probes to examine the functions of cholinesterases and biomembranes.
Research Interest
Triazole nucleoside chemistry for drug discovery, Molecular Probes, and Chemical Biology, as well as functional dendrimers for the delivery of nucleic acids.
